BCRP Summer Camps

 



CAMP BALTIMORE offers a variety of camp experiences for children ages 5-13. Camp Variety Therapeutic Camp reaches youth ages 5-21. Campers are engaged in arts and crafts, environmental projects, fitness, swimming, trips and more! Camps participate in the summer meals program which offers free meals to each participant. Before and after care available at participating sites.

Some camps fill fast. For more information, including locations and prices of each camp, call your local recreation center.

Specialty Camps

Ages 5-13, June 23-Aug. 15, 
8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., $400
Choose your own adventure! Children can spend the summer focused on their favorite sport or learning more about their natural environment. From athletics to technology, the possibilities are endless.



All-Star Tennis Academy — Ages 5-18; $400/six weeks, $70/week: Campers learn the fundamentals of tennis while increasing discipline and developing a love of the game. Academic enrichment and weekly field trips included. Space is limited. Call 443-984-3655 to register.

Baseball — Provides players with instruction in all aspects of the game. Campers will practice drills and playing in games.

Basketball/Cheer — Campers will be instructed on fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, rebounding and defensive techiniques. Emphasis placed on team play and good sportsmanship. Young ladies will learn team spirit while dancing and tumbling for their rec center team!

Camp W.A.T.E.R.S. — June 23 - Aug. 1, $400: Camp W.A.T.E.R.S. (Water, Adventure, Training, Enrichment, Rowing, Swimming) gives Baltimore City youth a full day of fun, learning and empowerment through swimming, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, environmental projects, centered on the abundant waters of the Middle Branch Basin and nearby Cherry Hill Splash Park. Environmental — Get in tune with the environment and nature while enjoying hiking, canoeing, recycling and more. Gain an appreciation for the environment through a variety of activities, trips and special events.

Fitness — Exercise the body and mind. Youth will be engaged in an array of toning exercises, nutrition workshops, yoga, Zumba and dance as well as team sports and special event days.

Football/Cheer — Campers will be instructed on the fundamentals, such as offense, defense and special teams. Emphasis on individual performance, team play and good sportsmanship. Young ladies will learn team spirit while dancing and tumbling for their rec center team!

Golf — Campers will be instructed on the fundamentals of golf while utilizing time-proven techniques. Staff will apply solid fundamentals customized to your child’s unique physical capabilities.

Performing Arts — Campers will discover and display their artistic talent in acting, dancing and singing complete with a culminating production performed at the end of camp.

RecTech — Exploring computers and science, campers will have a great summer at RecTech camps. In addition to computer classes, the NASA and STEM curriculums will be offered to spark interest in science and math.

Soccer — Campers will learn soccer skills through fun, progressive and challenging games. Campers will participate in a scrimmage at the end of each class.

Figure Skating Camp 
Ages 5-16, June 23-July 25, 
9 a.m.-3 p.m., $225 per one-week session
Enjoy the world of ice skating while learning through dance, movement and posture. Call 443-984-4075 to register.

Junior Mini Figure Skating Camp
Ages 5-10, June 23-27 and July 14-18, 
8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., $150 per session
Designed for children with limited skating experience. Creating a fun learning environment is the focus of this camp. We follow the USFSA Basic Skating Curriculum.

Carrie Murray Nature Camp
Ages 5-13, June 23-Aug. 22, 
8:30-3:30 p.m., $175 per one week session.
Campers enjoy a unique and environmentally conscious summer of learning! Let your children discover new and exciting things this summer in the great outdoors! Extended care available for additional cost. Call 410-396-0808 to register.

Camp Variety Therapeutic Camp

Ages 5-21, June 23-Aug. 1, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., $450
Camp Variety provides camp experiences for youth with disabilities in an inclusive environment. Activities include crafts, field trips, sports, swimming, theater and visiting groups. We encourage social interaction, fitness and fun! Transportation is included for city residents. Registered nurse on site.

Like to stay on the go? Spend the summer exploring educational, historical and recreational locales. Crafts, games and special events add to the fun.

Fun Camp

Ages 5-13, June 23-Aug. 15, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Free Enjoy a summer filled with fun and exploration. Campers will play games, explore nature and increase their knowledge of technology. All trips are fee-based, pay as you go. Participants must register and have signed permission cards.
