Virtual Rec: STEM Resources
Rec 2 Tech - Sign Up Here!
The Rec2Tech Virtual Program Series will offer participants ages 11-15 the opportunity to interact with digital fabrication tools and learn about digital fabrication processes (3D printing, laser cutting, and vinyl cutting). Throughout the program, participants will learn how to use digital design tools such as TinkerCAD for 3D design and Gravit for vector, logo, and graphic design. No prior knowledge is required! Sessions will be live-hosted, virtually, on MWF from 4:00-5:00pm, and run consecutively throughout the months of Oct/Nov. Participants will receive everything they design and make throughout the program! There are several class options to choose from.
The Rec2Tech Virtual Program Series is sponsored by the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Baltimore City Recreation and Parks.
Maker Monday Program - Sign Up Here!
Maker Monday is a five-week experience where kids and teens ages 8-17 work to complete a series of creative at-home projects. Each week features a new challenge! Students who complete all five challenges receive a free t-shirt and are entered into drawing for a secret prize!
Marker Monday allows participants to submit no-tech, low-tech, or high-tech projects. A mobile device (or access to a mobile device) is needed to view the weekly challenge, and a valid email address is required to submit photos/images of your work. Common materials found around the home may be necessary for some projects (paper, writing material, tape, cardboard, etc.). Maker Monday is limited to 50 participants, so sign up today!
