Mimi DiPietro Skating Center – Status Update

Mimi DiPietro Skating Center is currently closed due to concerns about the structural integrity of the wall that houses the rink’s ammonia refrigeration system. Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP) has determined that, if the wall repair is successful, the rink will reopen for the 2025–2026 season only, on a shortened schedule. After this season, the facility will close permanently due to its age and overall structural condition.

Skating Center Organizations

Please know that we are accommodating organizations and teams who use the Mimi Dome to the extent possible.

Long-Term Outlook

Mimi DiPietro has served the community for 39 years, but long-standing structural issues—including foundation concerns, dome integrity, and soil movement—were identified as far back as the 1998 Patterson Park Master Plan. Rec & Parks will engage City and community leaders as it explores options for a future replacement for the Mimi Dome.
